Advanced Micro Instruments, Inc. (AMI) announced today that the BARRACUDA MODEL 4010BR TDL Moisture Analyzer has received Class I, Div 1, Groups C & D, T3A approval from CSA. This now permits indoors installation of the MODEL 4010BR in hazardous areas. Companies that have been delaying their purchase due to a requirement for this approval can now contact AMI or their local distributor to place an order.

The BARRACUDA MODEL 4010BR was released by AMI in 2017 and remains the most advanced TDL Moisture Analyzer in the industry. The unit utilizes a special version of AMI’s patented ELIMINATOR CELL BLOCK that has an integrated sample system, containing a flow meter, sample metering valve, bypass metering valve, pressure transducer, temperature transducer, liquid rejection membrane and Herriot Cell. The Block reduces the overall dimensions of the MODEL 4010BR, creates a shorter path for the gas sample and helps deliver a faster measurement response time. Additionally, the Analyzer connects to the COMMAND CENTER User Software. This software platform provides access to advanced features, including dual independent alarm relay contacts, comprehensive alarm logic (fail safe or non-fail safe, latching or non-latching and independent alarm delays), alarm bypass, 3 levels of security settings as well as automatic data logging, which stores detailed time-stamped records of moisture measurement, gas pressure, temperature, supply voltage and power brown-out history.

The MODEL 4010BR also offers a unique benefit to pipeline operators – it can perform trace moisture measurements from a remote installation in the field. Because the unit requires less than 250 mA @12VDC to fully operate, a standard solar panel can provide enough power for the Analyzer.
