Trace Oxygen Analyzers

When measuring PPM oxygen in a gas stream over a variety of applications, it is important to understand that the presence of any trace oxygen levels is most likely due to a leak path. The oxygen in the air that we breathe likely surrounds your entire process or gas infrastructure. And when the smallest leak path presents itself, trace amounts of oxygen (representing 20.9% of the air) can enter a pressurized pipeline at atmospheric pressure. While this can be hard to believe, it actually happens due to Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures.

That is why PPM O2 analyzers are often viewed as functional ‘leak detectors’. PPM oxygen analyzers are used throughout the entire natural gas infrastructure because oxygen is one of the main ‘undesirable components’ responsible for costly and dangerous pipeline corrosion. PPM oxygen is commonly measured in many important industrial sectors that have to maintain high levels of gas purity and system integrity. Because of this critical task, customers looking for a reliable solution for trace oxygen analysis should never compromise on performance. The reliability of any trace measurements can be tied directly to how well an analyzer is designed and engineered. That is why AMI Trace O2 Analyzers are not designed with traditional sample systems or cell blocks that use ‘off-the-shelf’ components. Instead, they are built with our patented Eliminator Cell Block™ to guarantee almost zero possibility of internal leakage, ensuring users that our analyzers operate at the highest level of reliability. All sample handling components (flow meter, needle valve and a 3-way sample/span/off selection valve) are integrated into a solid metal block with internal drilled passages and an incredibly gas-efficient sensor pocket. This allows our sample systems to be constructed with minimal volume and provide exceptionally fast response times. This unique design provides the added convenience of front-panel sensor access for fast and simple sensor replacement (typically less than 1 min) and, if desired, fast and reliable air calibration without any tools.

Our gas analyzers are equipped with our state-of-the-art Command Center Electronics Platform™ to satisfy customer needs for more advanced functions and capabilities not available as standard options on other competitive devices. We provide a multitude of advancements, including but not limited to:

  • fully programmable alarm logic with relay contacts
  • data logging of oxygen, temperature and power supply voltage readings
  • calibration, power failure and brownout history
  • complete ModBus RTU supported over RS485.

Our analyzers also utilize oxygen sensors that are manufactured using our Bullet Sensor Technology™ for superior performance. Our T Series of trace O2 sensors have the fastest upscale and down response times in the industry and are resistant up to specified levels of problematic gases, such as H2S or CO2. In fact, our T-4 trace oxygen sensor can tolerate up to 500ppm H2S and 100% CO2 continuously for its entire product warranty.
